Worcestershire law firm mfg Solicitors has strengthened its Corporate and Commercial Property teams with two partner appointments.

Sophie Thornton has joined the firm from international law firm Pinsent Masons, and will be based at mfg’s Worcester office, working alongside partner and divisional head Clare Lang.

She has a strong track record in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, joint ventures and shareholder agreements.

The firm has also strengthened its Commercial Property division with the appointment of Ruth Bourton.

She has joined mfg from LCP UK where she served as in-house legal counsel providing both strategic and day-to-day advice on its extensive property portfolio. Bourton also joins the Worcester office and will work closely with divisional head Ben Rothery.

Both Bourton and Thornton return to mfg Solicitors after originally completing their training with the firm in 2007 and 2012 respectively.

Andrew Davies, partner and managing director, said: “We are experiencing sustained growth across all areas of the firm and this has meant further investment into our specialist teams.

“Sophie and Ruth both have exceptional credentials in their respective areas having completed their training with us some years ago. They will bolster our team in Worcester and are already making an impact with our clients and within the city’s close-knit business community.

“They will undoubtedly make a big impact for us in the coming months and years and will help to drive and inspire the next generation of solicitors we also have coming through within our Corporate and Commercial Property teams.”
